How it works

From contract to the first data in days, not months

No construction, no new sensor. Onboarding uses what the store already has: cameras, DVR and the floor plan.

Deployment target: up to five business days per store, to be validated in the pilot

The path of the data

  1. Recorded video

The store exports clips from its camera recorder (DVR or NVR). No new camera, no sensor, no construction work.

  2. Detection and trajectories

Each person in the footage becomes a per-camera trajectory, classified as customer, employee or unknown. No face, no identity.

  3. Position on the floor plan

Each camera is fitted to the store floor plan: what appears in the image becomes a position in metres inside the real store.

  4. Departments and crossings

Produce, bakery, checkouts: each department becomes an area on the plan, and each crossing into it becomes a record with entry and exit times.

  5. Dashboards and Digital Twin

Totals by hour, day and department become dashboards, the day replay and the 3D model of the store, the Digital Twin.

What the store needs to have

  • CCTV cameras already installed, assessed during the technical visit for resolution, frame rate and placement.
  • A DVR or NVR with usable video export, tested before the schedule is set.
  • The store floor plan as CAD, PDF or photo, with two or three real measurements checked on site.
  • Privacy signage installed and the employee notice delivered, with templates provided by Afluxion.

Onboarding, step by step

  1. Contract and data processing agreementNothing is processed before both are signed.
  2. Technical visitCamera inventory, export test, choice of the main cameras and formal exclusion of restricted areas.
  3. Digitised floor planThe plan becomes the store's measurement base, in metres.
  4. RegistrationStore, opening hours, cameras with mandatory privacy masking and departments from the standard supermarket list.
  5. Fitting each cameraEach camera is fitted to the plan and only saved once the error is within the limit.
  6. Clock synchronisationThe clock offset of each camera is measured and corrected.
  7. In-store noticePoster and employee notice installed by the retailer, with a record.
  8. Validation videoOne or two typical hours, also counted by hand, to check before acceptance.
  9. TrainingExecutive, manager and administrator, each with their own use.
  10. Go-liveSigned checklist and start of follow-up.

What you receive
